Setting up of new steel plants

The Minister of State in the Ministry of Steel, A Sai Prathap said that NMDC, a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Steel has decided to set up a 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) integrated green field steel plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh State, at a cost of around Rs 15525 crore. NMDC has also signed an Memorandum of Understanding to set up a green field steel plant in Karnataka State with an initial capacity of 2 million tonne per annum.
