HCC bags Rs 1,500 crore contracts

IRCON International awarded Rs 884 crore contract to Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) for the construction of 10.2 km tunnel on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway line in Jammu & Kashmir. This contract will be completed in 60 months. This has been a repeat order to HCC awarded by IRCON International, who has been engaged in constructing the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramula railway line. This will be the second largest tunnel in India. It follows the 10.96 km long Pir Panjal Tunnel between Qazigund to Banihal, which has also been built by HCC. The Pir Panjal tunnel between Jammu and Qazigund will be nearing completion. The firm has also bagged an EPC order for expansion of a section of NH8 between Vadodara and Surat, which also includes the construction of an extra dosed bridge across River Narmada.
