NHAI to develop Paradip-Daitary highway on OMT basis
National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to develop the 77-km Paradip-Daitary expressway on an 'Operate-Maintain Transfer' (OMT) mode. The project is in bidding stage. The contract would be for six years to repair and maintain the highway stretch. The highway is in bad shape in certain patches. Paradip Private Truck Operators' Union President Sumant Biswal has urged upon the officials to put the 10-KM stretch of the road from Bhutamundai to Atharbanki in a motorable condition to avoid hardship to the motorist.
