MoEF gives nod for 11 projects in March
The Ministry of Environment and Forests has cleared 11 projects in the month of March. Three are in the coal mining category, two are in the mining and a major chunk i.e., six are in the industrial category.
In the coal mining category the MoEF has cleared expansion of 6&7 pits colliery and Jamadoba Coal Washery in Dhanbad, Jharkhand (both belong to Tata Steel) and Dulanga opencast coal mining project of National Thermal Power Corporation.
In industrial projects, MoEF has cleared a capacity expansion project of Ramco Industries Ltd in Andhra Pradesh; a bulk drug manufacturing unit of MSN Laboratories Ltd; expansion of a pulp manufacturing unit by Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Ltd; an agrochemical manufacturing unit by Tagros Chemicals India Ltd; a resin manufacturing unit by Euro Decore Pvt Ltd and a ferro alloys unit by Steel Authority of India Ltd.
The total cost of these projects is more than Rs 5,000 crore.
